Cutoffs, Strip Cut Burls and Thin Burl Caps for Small Projects and Hybrid Casting Products

About Hybrid Casting Stock

Hybrid casting has become ubiquitous. But the coolness of the exterior spikes aside, let's face it, everyone wants to see what's "inside" to get some sense of the color and figure. I get it. So I will trim and strip cut certain burls, whose shape or the presence of a cut edge may not make it an ideal candidate for turning, but great for casting (with the added benefit of standard solid burl blanks and a lower price point than dimensional stock). I typically cut in widths of 1", 1-5/8" or 1-3/4", but if there's a burl you'd like cut in a different width(s), I'd be happy to do so. There is no charge for doing so, providing you purchase the entire burl. Alternatively, take a look at the Cutoffs and Thin Burl Caps pages for small projects and other casting options.
